Zentech Incorporated is the first U.S.-based company to receive the ABS SMART(SHM) Tier 2 Product Design Assessment (PDA) certificate for its structural health monitoring (SHM) solution.
The Zentech Asset Integrity Management Solution (ZAIMS) is designed to support smart functionality for safety and operational efficiencies on both marine vessels and offshore units.
ZAIMS utilizes advanced analysis techniques, including finite element analysis (FEA), by modeling the structural degradation using the most recent gauging data. ZAIMS includes the assessment of hull structural integrity by conducting both local minimum scantling and global analysis based on the latest gauging data.
The presence of SMART systems is growing rapidly in the industry, and ABS is proud to add the ZAIMS system to the list of ABS-approved SMART products. After implementing the ZAIMS system, marine vessels and offshore units will be eligible to receive the class notation, SMART(SHM), and class record comment, Global Hull-Tier 2, Low Risk Level.
