Following the outbreak of fire that occurred today at 01:00 in the morning at the gas processing complex of Alrar Wilaya of Illizi, the fire at the level of train-1-, was quickly brought under control. This train was completely isolated from the three other trains of the gas processing complex of Alrar, falling under the Stah production region, Wilaya of Illizi.
This incident did not impact SONATRACH's overall gas production volume. Similarly, shipments to national and international customers were not disrupted. It is worth recalling that as soon as the alert was issued, thanks to the vigilance of SONATRACH agents, the Mutual Aid Plan (PAM), an inter-unit aid system of the Company for the management of SONATRACH emergencies and crises, was immediately deployed efficiently, quickly dispatching reinforcements to the Alrar site from production sites in the In Amenas hub. Preparations for the return to service of the other three trains of the Alrar gas complex are underway. A team of SONATRACH experts was dispatched to the site to develop a plan to return to normal.
An investigation is underway to determine the causes of this incident.
