The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has given Equinor consent to use the mobile drilling unit Deepsea Atlantic for well plugging and drilling at the Utgard field. The consent includes plugging of well 15/8-G-4 H and production drilling and completion of well 15/8-G-4 AH at the Utgard field.
Utgard
The Utgard field is in the central North Sea, straddling the sector boundary between Norway and the UK. It is located 20 kilometres west of the Sleipner field centre. The water depth is 110-120 metres. Utgard was discovered in 1982 and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 2017. The development concept is a 4-slot subsea template with two wells tied-back to the Sleipner T facility for processing and reduction of the CO2 level in the gas. Production started in 2019.
