In recognition of its leadership in promoting environmental responsibility within the maritime industry, ABS received the Maritime Industry Award from the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA).

“This recognition underscores our commitment to safety throughout the maritime industry, using our technical expertise to deliver practical solutions to clients to adhere to and stay ahead of rapidly evolving environmental regulations. ABS and NAMEPA share a common focus on preserving the natural environment, and it is my privilege to accept this award on behalf of all ABS staff,” said Roy Bleiberg, ABS Vice President, Regional Business Development.

Submissions for the awards were reviewed by the NAMEPA board of directors, and the presentation was made at a dinner in conjunction with the NAMEPA annual conference in New York.

“ABS was recognized with NAMEPA’s Maritime Industry Marine Environment Protection Award for its contribution in so many areas to solving industry’s greatest challenges. From its work on future fuels including its engagement with the Maritime Nuclear Application Group (MNAG), leadership in decarbonization efforts such as Blue Sky Maritime Coalition, and its efforts to facilitate Green Shipping Corridors, ABS has demonstrated its willingness and commitment to support the industry as it evolves,” said Carleen Lyden Walker, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of NAMEPA.

ABS and its affiliated companies are global leaders in marine and offshore classification and other innovative safety, quality and environmental services focused on the marine, energy and government sectors.
