American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., announced that it has again been recognized on Newsweek’s list of America’s Most Responsible Companies. This recognition illustrates American Water’s continued commitment to environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) leadership.

America's Most Responsible Companies 2025 focuses on a holistic view of corporate responsibility that considers the three pillars of ESG and is based on two metrics:

- KPI Research: More than 30 KPIs have been researched for the top 2,000 public companies (by revenue; with their headquarters in the USA)
- Public Survey: 26,000 U.S. residents were asked to select companies familiar to them and then evaluate the company's corporate social responsibility in general and in the three sub-dimensions: social, environmental and governance

Recognition was presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, and can be viewed on Newsweek’s website.

American Water’s commitment to this mission is documented in its latest Sustainability Report.
