INPEX Completes Fifth Stage Extension of Shin Tokyo Line NG Trunk Pipeline in Japan

INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) announced that through its subsidiary INPEX JAPAN, LTD. (INPEX JAPAN), it has completed the fifth stage extension of the Shin Tokyo Line natural gas trunk pipeline and commenced supply of natural gas to further secure a stable natural gas supply to the northern Kanto region of Japan, where natural gas demand is expected to grow steadily.

As a result of this extension, the existing Shin Tokyo Line, which links Joetsu City in Niigata Prefecture to Fujioka City in Gunma Prefecture, was extended by approximately 16 kilometers in the direction of Tokyo, making the total length of the pipeline approximately 229 kilometers. The extension connects to the Tokyo Line in Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture, enhancing the stability and efficiency of natural gas supplies to the region. The Tokyo Line, which runs parallel to the Shin Tokyo Line and links Joetsu City in Niigata Prefecture and Adachi Ward in Tokyo Metropolis, is approximately 324 kilometers long.

INPEX seeks to make its energy supply infrastructure more resilient by strengthening and expanding its natural gas pipeline network, while thoroughly managing the safety of the network. The company seeks to provide as many customers as possible with security and peace of mind through stable access to natural gas.
