Savills Earth Capital Advisory team acted on behalf of Severn Trent Green Power (STGP) on the acquisition of Church Farm solar scheme, a c.25 MWp scheme located in Shropshire, from Elgin Energy for an undisclosed price.
This acquisition marks the fourth project that STGP has secured from Elgin Energy in 2024, bringing the total to approximately 200 MWp of solar capacity to be constructed in the coming years.
Solar energy is an increasingly popular choice for generating affordable, clean power as the real estate sector accelerates efforts to achieve net zero carbon targets. With demand for sustainable developments rising, this project highlights STGP’s dedication to expanding a diverse and robust renewable energy portfolio.
Henry Grant, Associate Director, Savills Earth Capital Advisory, says: “It has been a pleasure to support STGP with this series of acquisitions as they continue to advance renewable energy initiatives in the UK. We advised STGP on how to enter the solar market to meet their ambitions, provided valuation advice, coordinated technical due diligence, and acted as the acquisition agent throughout the process. We look forward to collaborating on future projects that promote a sustainable future.”
