The international energy transition company
CCE Holding announces the successful conclusion of a EUR 24 million project financing with
Commerzbank AG: The loan amount will be used for the construction of a 42.08 MW
photovoltaic plant in the municipality of Montalto di Castro in the Italian region of Lazio near
Rome. The project will be connected to the Italian electricity grid in summer 2025. A long-term
contract has already been concluded with the Swiss company BKW AG for the sale of the
electricity.
The transaction is a classic construction financing with all the typical security features of project
financing. ‘The signing of the project financing with a German bank for the construction of an
Italian PV plant underlines the confidence of the banking sector in the excellent work of CCE
in Italy,’ say Martin Dürnberger and Jörg Menyesch, the two CEOs of CCE Holding.
‘In this transaction, we were able to rely on strong and experienced partners at Commerzbank,
who have now made this project possible,’ adds Thomas Steiner-Zelger, Director Project
Finance at CCE.
The plant in Montalto di Castro is one project in the company's development pipeline of around
2 GW in Italy. The IPP (Independent Power Producer) CCE Holding has a total portfolio of
around 6 GW worldwide.
