OOO LUKOIL-Western Siberia (a 100% subsidiary of PJSC LUKOIL) has put the Severo-Yagunskoye field in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug into trial operation. The field has a complex geological structure and is located in the Surgut District, 51 kilometers from the city of Kogalym.
The license for the Severo-Yagunsky subsoil area in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, which includes the oil field of the same name, was obtained in 2018. In the area of ??the license area, in the winter field season of 2019-2020, in accordance with the approved project for geological study of the subsoil, seismic exploration work was carried out using the 3D method in a volume of 420 km2. In order to obtain high-quality seismic material that allows for the maximum characterization of promising hydrocarbon traps, a high-density method and technology of work were selected, in which the density of physical observation points per square kilometer is almost twice as high as with conventional standard seismicity.
Based on the research results, the first exploratory well was drilled in 2023, and three new deposits were discovered in the Lower Cretaceous and Upper Jurassic deposits.
?In 2024, two multi-hole production wells and two exploration wells were drilled at the field. Power lines and an oil gathering pipeline were also built, connecting the well pad of the new field with the booster pump station No. 5 of the Yuzhno-Yagunskoye field. Plans for the near future include drilling four multi-hole production wells and testing exploration wells.
