
In the context of Engineer Hassan Al-Khateeb, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, participating in the activities of the "World Economic Forum 2025" in the Swiss city of Davos, the minister held a meeting with Mr. Richard Hull, CEO of Dana Gas, to review investment opportunities and components in the Egyptian market within the energy sector, as well as to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the state and the company in support of investment trends in the energy sector.
The minister stated that the ministry is keen to provide an attractive investment environment that contributes to enhancing foreign direct investment by offering necessary facilities and working to overcome all challenges that foreign companies operating in Egypt may face.
Al-Khateeb confirmed that the Egyptian government prioritises support for strategic sectors such as energy, working to facilitate legislative and regulatory procedures that contribute to increasing investments from major companies.
The minister added that Dana Gas is considered one of the main partners of the state in the energy field, highlighting the ministry's readiness to support the company's expansion plans in the Egyptian market to meet growing energy needs and enhance the sustainability of resources.
Al-Khateeb pointed out that the meeting reviewed Dana Gas's future expansion plans in Egypt, including joint projects to develop new gas fields and achieve sustainable growth in this vital sector.
He emphasised the importance of achieving integration between government efforts and private sector companies to develop infrastructure in the energy sector and transition to renewable and clean energy sources.
For his part, Mr. Richard Hull, CEO of Dana Gas, confirmed the company's desire to enhance its presence in the Egyptian market further, outlining the company's strategy to expand its investments in Egypt over the coming years.
Hull also praised the level of fruitful cooperation with the Egyptian government, expressing optimism about the significant improvement in the investment environment due to recent economic reforms.
He added that Dana Gas will continue to operate under an ambitious strategy aimed at enhancing its partnership with Egypt and achieving mutual economic benefits, whether through increasing gas production or strengthening the Egyptian economy's capabilities in this field.
