The EIF participates in Vesper Infrastructure’s latest interim close, taking total assets under management to more than €570 million
The commitment backed by InvestEU will help accelerate the deployment of Vesper Infrastructure’s investment strategy in promoting decarbonisation, sustainable and circular economy across Europe
The European Investment Fund (“EIF”) commits €75 million to Vesper Next Generation Infrastructure Fund I targeting to raise €800 million for sustainable infrastructure.
The Fund focuses on investment opportunities in clean, digital and decentralised energy; decarbonised mobility and connected logistics; data-centric, low latency digital infrastructure; and sustainable, circular and healthy living solutions.
To-date, the Fund has made two investments – the acquisition of RAD-x alongside Swiss Life Asset Managers, a leading medical diagnostic imaging platform; and the majority investment into EAG Bioenergy, a biogas and biomethane operator and developer.
Marjut Falkstedt, EIF Chief Executive said: “In line with our objective of accelerating Europe's energy transition and sustainability journey, we are very pleased to be supporting Vesper Infrastructure in the delivery of its strategy. This is a great opportunity to combine our experience and financial clout with Vesper’s investment and value-creation pedigree to mobilise additional capital, accelerate decarbonisation efforts, and contribute to building a sustainable future.”
Livio Fenati, Managing Partner at Vesper Infrastructure Partners, said: “Partnering with the EIF provides additional scale and breadth of experience across the EU that will further accelerate the Fund’s ability to identify and deploy in attractive value-add infrastructure investments. The commitment from the EIF is an important recognition of the compelling investment strategy of the Fund and a valuable testament to the investment team’s extensive investment track record.”
