Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV) recently took part in the naming and delivery ceremony of two Crown 63 PLUS bulk carrier vessels, built by New Dayang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of SUMEC Marine, for CDB Leasing. The ceremony, held on 3rd January, provided an opportunity to celebrate a significant milestone for all parties involved, highlighting the strength of their long-standing collaboration.

The two vessels mentioned in the ceremony, the “CL JIANGMEN” and “CL FOSHAN” represented the final of the 39 vessels to be delivered by New Dayang Shipbuilding as part of CDB Leasing's substantial order, which consisted of 31 units of 63,500-dwt bulk carriers and 8 units of 82,000-dwt bulk carriers.

New Dayang Shipbuilding has also signed contracts for 105 units of 63,500-dwt bulk carriers to date, with Bureau Veritas classifying 39 of them, the highest number for this vessel type at the shipyard.

During the ceremony, Ma Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CDB Leasing, expressed heartfelt gratitude to SUMEC and New Dayang Shipbuilding for their dedication to the successful delivery of the series. She emphasized that the collaboration with SUMEC in the shipbuilding business exemplifies CDB Leasing's commitment to supporting "domestic shipbuilding for domestic use" in commercial services.

Chen Feng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SUMEC Group, expressed his sincere gratitude to CDB Leasing for its trust and to Bureau Veritas for its support. He highlighted that shipbuilding and shipping are international industries that connect the world. SUMEC will continue to uphold its "customer first" values, adhere to the dual approach of "shipbuilding and shipping," and consistently drive the continued innovation of ship products.

The continued focus on innovation and quality by CDB Leasing, New Dayang Shipbuilding, and Bureau Veritas has ensured the smooth delivery of these vessels. The two Crown 63 PLUS bulk carriers are significant milestones in our partnership, marking the 174th and 175th vessels classified by BV for New Dayang, bringing the total to 328 units when combined with deliveries from Yangzhou Dayang. This achievement underscores our strong collaboration and shared commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability.
