Iberdrola, through its US company Avangrid, provides electricity from its energy assets located throughout the country, even during the coldest winter months.

Avangrid supplied electricity and heat during the historic low temperatures that affected much of the central part of the country last week. The company has more than 30 energy facilities located between the Rocky Mountains and the Appalachian Mountains, with a combined installed capacity of more than 4.5 Gigawatts (GW), which have supplied energy to families and businesses that depend on it every day. Together, these facilities are capable of producing enough energy to supply the equivalent of approximately 1 million homes.

In addition to being there when they are needed most, these facilities are important economic engines in these communities, contributing lease payments to landowners and providing critical tax revenues to strengthen a variety of public services, including schools.
