Deutsche ReGas, the only private operator of LNG terminals in Germany, has the Charter agreement for “Energos Power” with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) terminated. The ship is one of the two floating storage facilities and Regasification Units (FSRUs), which were previously located in the “German Baltic Sea” energy terminal in Mukran are used.

“DET’s ruinous pricing policy since December 2024 is one of several reasons for the termination of the subcharter agreement. Deutsche ReGas regrets this step “to be forced,” said Ingo Wagner, managing partner of Deutsche ReGas. “We continue to be in close contact with the federal government on this matter. In the In the event of a supply bottleneck, ReGas believes that an immediate solution can be found at any time.”

DET has been marketing its capacities for the regulated LNG terminals since December 2024 systematically and significantly below the level approved by the Federal Network Agency cost-covering fees. This resulted in and continues to cause significant market distortion in Germany.
