Vertimass LLC's Chief Operating Officer John Hannon, Ph.D., has joined the board of directors for Advanced Biofuels USA, an educational nonprofit dedicated to the understanding, development and use of advanced biofuels in the U.S. and around the world.
"Hannon's work with technology scale-up, licensing, business development, and intellectual property related to Vertimass' novel ethanol-to-fuels and chemical catalytic conversion technologies, his experience as a principal investigator for significant U.S. Department of Energy grants and his work with sustainable aviation fuel, will be of great value to the organization's board," explained Joanne Ivancic, executive director of Advanced Biofuels USA. Hannon will fill the board seat of Chris Tindal, former director for operational energy, who resigned effective in January.
"I am honored to join the Advanced Biofuels USA board and strongly support their mission of promoting the use of renewable fuels to improve energy security, mitigating climate change and growing domestic economies," said Hannon. "I look forward to working with this elite team."
With 15 years of experience as a chemical engineer, Hannon's expertise in technoeconomic analysis in renewable fuels and food products is a great asset to Advanced Biofuels USA.
"John's nearly 25 years as a consulting engineer, helping clients with technical due diligence, focusing on renewable fuels and food products, specializing in plant design, capital and operating costs, and scaling up ethanol conversion, will be invaluable as we continue our work to educate the world about sustainable fuels," Ivancic noted. "The board is particularly happy to have someone who can fill in for Chris Tindal's hands-on experience with sustainable aviation fuels."
