Shanghai Petrochemical Intelligent Change System is Launched

Recently, Shanghai Petrochemical's intelligent change system was put into operation, becoming the first company in Sinopec to complete the construction of this system, providing a replicable case for the digital transformation of the petrochemical industry.

Changes are adjustments to production processes, equipment, and techniques, and change management is the systematic control of the entire change process. Its purpose is to identify and reduce safety, environmental, or quality risks that may be caused by changes, which is related to the company's safe production and operational efficiency.

In 2022, Shanghai Petrochemical established a special research team to benchmark international advanced management concepts and create an intelligent change system with intelligence, standardization, and collaboration as the core. Through standardized processes and intelligent tools, the system ensures that each change undergoes a comprehensive risk assessment before implementation, and formulates control measures in advance to form an "identification, assessment, control, and closed-loop" management chain, promote collaborative operations among various professional departments, and clarify responsibilities, so that change management can be known, controlled, and traceable, effectively improving change management efficiency.
