MITSUI E&S Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takeyuki Takahashi ; hereinafter "MITSUI E&S") took the delivery of the module vessel "YAMATO" (hereinafter "the Vessel") from Panamanian corporation, YAMATO MARINE S.A., with the aim of ensuring stable and flexible activity in the maritime transportation for our cranes.
The Vessel, having a flat and wide deck, has been the flagship of the module fleet of NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shinichi Yanagisawa; hereinafter "NBP"), and has played a significant role in various projects, including the transportation of cranes manufactured by MITSUI E&S. The delivery of the Vessel was completed at MITSUI E&S's Oita factory on April 23, 2025, and it will be dedicated to the specialized transportation of MITSUI E&S's port crane products.
MITSUI E&S has established a Panamanian subsidiary, MES VESSEL S.A., for the purpose of owning the Vessel and its operations management. The operations management of the Vessel will continue to be entrusted to NBP, which is renowned for its expertise in project cargo transportation. With support from NBP, MITSUI E&S will ensure the safety in transporting products and operating the Vessel.
MITSUI E&S is advancing its expansion in the global market of port cranes, particularly in the United States and Southeast Asia, where demand for cranes is increasing, and has considered owning transport vessels for some time. With the acquisition of YAMATO, MITSUI E&S will continue to contribute to our customers' container terminal business through strengthening our business foundation by keeping stable maritime transportation capacity of port cranes.
