A new technological platform is built at “Guneshli” field within the framework of modernization of platform No 4. This rare platform to be installed 50 meters away from the platform at a depth of 90-92 meters will be connected with it by means of a pedestrian bridge.

Both of the platforms will have a common social infrastructure – living blocks, a reserve drilling facility and a helicopter area. At the same time, a gas-lift compressor station consisting of 8 engines is considered to be built on the platform as the production at “Guneshli” field is mainly conducted via gas-lift method. For provision of stable oil production at the field, gas will be pumped to beds compressed under 125 atmospheres pressure by means of this station.

The technological platform is projected by “Oil Gas Scientific Research Project” Institute. The platform consisting of two toe blocks will be put into operation in 2011. The 2140 tons first block with 100 meters of height was built at Baku Deep Water Jacket Factory named after Heydar Aliyev.

The 2650 tons second block was built by “Oil and Gas Construction” Trust. This block is constructed on the basis of the unused platform No 20 built in 1990s. The construction works are underway and considered to be completed within next 2 months. The construction works of the first toe block built at Baku Deep Water Jacket Factory named after Heydar Aliyev is already completed and is ready to be transported to the supporting pole. At present, last preparation works are carried out in the platform design point.
