On April 8, SOCAR management met with the delegation headed by Hoang Chung Hai, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Socialist Republic having business visit to Azerbaijan at the Company’s Head Office.
Sincerely welcoming the guests, SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev emphasized the deep, friendly relations of ten years between Vietnam and Azerbaijan and great role of the Azerbaijani oilmen in establishment and development of these relations. He highly appreciated the activities of the Azerbaijani oilmen on development of the oil industry of Vietnam.
R.Abdullayev expressed his assurance that the agreements between SOCAR and Vietnamese State Oil and Gas Company Petrovietnam will contribute to more profound and extensive relations. The Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Socialist Republic Hoang Chung Hai expressed his pleasure of visiting Azerbaijan and gratitude for shown hospitality.
He noted that people in his country love and know Azerbaijan very well. Formerly, qualified experts for main economic spheres, especilally oil and gas industry of Vietnam were trained in Azerbaijan. The guest told that the relations between the two countries should be developed rest upon the historical friendship.
He expressed his assurance that the agreements signed between the companies will contribute to the development of friendship and cooperation between the countries by emphasizing SOCAR’s wide experience in the world oil production. Afterwards, the signing ceremony was commenced. The Cooperation Memorandum was signed by SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev and Petrovietnam Oil Corporation president Fun Din Tuk.
The second document - “Long-term agreement on supply of Azerbaijani oil to Vietnam”- was signed between SOCAR Trading Singapore and Petrovietnam Oil Corporation by the director of SOCAR Trading Singapore Viktor Lim and the director of the Vietnamese corporation Nguen Huan Sun.
