UOP has been awarded the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) 2010 Sustainable Energy Award for its work on biofuels process technology.

“Since our founding more than 90 years ago, UOP has been committed to developing the technology that our customers will need for tomorrow,” said Rajeev Gautam, President and CEO of Honeywell’s UOP. “The solutions we have created to convert biological feedstocks into real, drop-in fuels, are not only economically viable under current regulations, but they are aligned with today’s standard refinery practices and can greatly contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.”

The AIChE award recognizes contributions toward the innovation, sustainability, and conservation of energy through the application of chemical engineering.
