Alujain Corporation reports that its subsidiary National Petrochemical Industrial Company (NatPet) has resumed operations at its facilities in Yanbu Industrial City, Saudi Arabia, after completing scheduled maintenance.

Alujain said it has completed the 60 days maintenance about 11 days ahead of schedule. This will have a positive financial impact of about US$5.33m on the company’s financial statement, according to a company statement. The scheduled maintenance, which started 1 May, aimed to increase the operational rate and the automation of the complex, the company said in late April.

The company started commercial operation at its 400,000 tonnes per year of polypropylene complex in August 2010. NatPet witnessed two shutdowns this year due to technical problems and power outages, causing losses of more than $11m.
