The Petroleum Contracts & Licensing Directorate of the Ministry of Oil is pleased to announce the outcome of the pre- qualification process of the International Oil Companies "IOCs" that submitted their qualification documents within the period 14th April to 6th June 2011. The total number of the companies that participated in the process was 50 from various nationalities.
The data & information submitted by the "IOCs" covered five criteria, for each a range of minimum & maximum marks were setout to achieve qualification, as follows:
- Technical
- Financial
- Legal
- Training
- HSE
IOCs were considered "Qualified" by gaining the minimum level of marks above. Qualified IOCs can then participate in the 4th Licensing Round for planned Exploration Blocks, which were announced on 25th April 2011, when they will receive a letter of invitation from Petroleum Contracts & Licensing Directorate to this effect.

Ltd, Mubadala Oil, Occidental, OJSC Oil Company Rosneft, OJSC TNK-BP Holding, ONGC Videsh Ltd, Pakistan petroleum, Petro Vietnam E and P, PetroChina, Petronas, Premier Oil, PT Pertamina, PTTEP international Holding Co-Ltd, Shell, Sonangol, Statoil, Sumitomo corporation, Total, and TPAO.
