Abadan oil refinery’s upgrading plan will come online in next three years, managing director of the National Iranian Oil Refining And Distribution Company (NIORDC), Alireza Zeighami said.
Addressing a ceremony at the refinery, Zeighami said gasoline making unit of the refinery and development of the Mahshahr facilities were the two projects came on stream with 800 and 200 million dollars investment respectively.
He referred to upgrading and stabilization of production capacity plans of the refinery as the two other projects are being implemented with three billion dollars investment adding upon the completion of the projects, Abadan oil refinery would be ‘renovated’.
By inauguration of the first phase of the gasoline making unit, the refinery’s super gasoline production has risen by three million liters per day, the official said adding by launching the second phase of the project in next two months, production of super gasoline will reach five million liters a day while total daily gasoline production capacity of the refinery will amount to 13.5 million liters per day.
Abadan oil refinery’s development plan is going on in three phases including construction of vacuum distilling unit, peripherals units and upgrading; construction of atmospheric distilling unit and new gasoline making units including cat cracker and alkylation and boosting gasoline production and reducing fuel oil production. By completion of the last phase, the country’s gasoline production capacity will climb to 50 million liters per day for the first time.
