Ameresco, Inc., a leading energy efficiency and renewable energy company, announced that Ameresco Solar, a subsidiary of Ameresco, has reached an agreement to provide the small area module (SAM) line of solar panels that range from 5 watts to 180 watts (previously offered by BP Solar International, Inc.), under the Ameresco Solar brand.
“Ameresco Solar and BP Solar have observed a strong demand for these small, rugged panels, and many companies have come to rely on these modules for existing products and applications,” said Colin Gates, vice president, Ameresco Solar. “These modules have been offered by BP Solar for over 25 years, delivering consistent footprints, certifications, and approvals that are important to the off-grid solar industry. Without them, there would be a large void for customers.”
Ameresco Solar specializes in energy efficient solutions for its customers. To date, Ameresco Solar has long been the largest user of the BP Solar SAM line, and can handle the technical, logistical, and financial requirements associated with the product line. Ameresco Solar continues to expand its global footprint to ensure service and availability are not interrupted for customers around the globe. This agreement strategically keeps the product headquarters in the same U.S. location and helps to make sure warranties are facilitated and information exchanges happen in a real-time fashion moving forward. Service and the warranty continue to be critical considerations of the product line. This agreement is expected to provide a seamless transition, and afford customers the comfort and peace of mind of knowing that their supply chain will continue under the Ameresco Solar brand.
