The Shaw Group Inc. announced it has signed a new contract with Arizona Public Service, Co. (APS) to provide maintenance, modifications, construction and radiological protection services to its Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Arizona. Palo Verde is located 55 miles west of Phoenix and is the largest nuclear power plant in the U.S. with three reactors capable of producing more than 4,000 megawatts of electricity.
“APS is keenly focused on providing safe and reliable service to its customers, and Shaw is prepared to work closely with them to achieve performance excellence,” said Ron McCall, president of Shaw’s Plant Services Division. “We respect the operating standards APS has demonstrated and are prepared to provide comprehensive management of tasks and projects that will help them safely and efficiently generate electricity for the long term.”
The undisclosed value of the three-year contract will be included in Shaw’s Plant Services segment’s backlog of unfilled orders in the first quarter of fiscal year 2012.
