Jacobs Receives Contract for IT Acquisition Support

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that it has been selected to provide engineering and acquisition support to the Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), Information Systems and Infrastructure Product Group (PG/ISI), Program Manager Marine Corps Network and Infrastructure Services (PM MCNIS).

Awarded under the Commercial Enterprise Omnibus support services (CEOss) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), with a one-year base and two option years, the contract has a potential value of $42.4 million through June 2014.

PM MCNIS is responsible for managing the acquisition of information technology services for the USMC enterprise. Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is supporting continuity of services contract (COSC) management and acquisition activities for the USMC Next Generation IT Environment - via the Navy Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) and the Secure Operational Network Infrastructure Capability (SONIC) - with strategic planning, requirements analysis, concept development and transition and enterprise process support. Key components of our enterprise IT acquisition support approach include participation in Marine Corps and joint technical forums and the incorporation of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes and IT Service Management (ITSM) principles for PM MCNIS projects and programs.

In making the announcement, Jacobs President and CEO Craig Martin stated, "This contract provides an excellent opportunity to build upon our long-standing relationship with the Marine Corps. Services we provide under this contract are expected to help sustain and enhance mission critical, worldwide access to enterprise information technologies for the Marines."
