PV Evolution Labs (PVEL) announced a new milestone, as the Berkeley, CA lab achieved ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation, cementing PVEL's rise as a vital resource to the North American solar industry. PVEL provides solar panel testing and calibration services to encourage the industry's healthy growth, and promotes best practices in the complex North American solar market. PVEL's newly accredited testing and calibration of solar reference cells and PV modules promotes smarter growth and fosters industry confidence that PVEL is providing the highest level of quality and technical precision.
"PVEL is committed to rigorous technical standards to help support solar's technical advancement and movement into the mainstream," said Jenya Meydbray, PVEL's co-founder and CEO, commenting on the lab's achievement. "The recognition associated with accreditation fosters PVEL's mission and, in turn, the solar industry." The ISO 17025 accreditation is a highly esteemed global standard for laboratories and provides a rigorous benchmark for approving technical and quality system competence, with a focus on continual process improvement. PVEL sought ISO 17025 accreditation through the internationally recognized American Association of Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). Through A2LA, PVEL's accreditation is recognized by the 107 combined signatories of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and Asia-Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC), extending PVEL's credibility within and beyond the domestic market.
