HRT Spuds Well 1-HRT-8-AM in Block SOL-T-169

HRT Participaçoes em Petroleo S.A, announces that its subsidiary HRT O&G Exploraçao e Produçao de Petroleo Ltda (“HRT O&G”), on March 17, 2012 at 06:00 p.m., spudded the well 1-HRT-8-AM, in the prospect Aroeira (1-HRT-169-02-AM), located in the Block SOL-T-169, Solimoes Basin, in the Municipality of Tefe-AM.

The drilling of this well aims to test a 25 km2 area structure which belongs to a gas trend perforated by the well 1-HRT-5-AM. The location is situated at 20 km southeast of the Jurua Field. The main targets are the Carboniferous reservoirs of the Jurua Formation expected at a 3,000m depth, as well as the Devonian reservoirs of the Uerê Formation. The well has been drilled by the rig QG-VIII, and is forecast to reach a final depth at 3,365m.
