First Phase of Farashband Gas Refinery Completed

Managing director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company announced the completion of the first phase of Farashband Gas Refinery development plan and said the project is aimed to transfer Dey and Sephid Zakhor gas output to the refinery.

Fakour said gas transmission from Dey and Sephid Zakhor fields is done in two phases, of which the first phase has been fully implemented.

He said development of the aforementioned fields requires 370 million dollar investment adding it is planned to yield 15.1 million cubic meters of gas from Dey and Sephid Zakhor fields.

According to South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company (one of the three ICOFC subsidiaries), development plan of Dey and Sephid Zakhor fields is set to finish in 2013.

In addition to development of the two fields, gas processing capacity of Farashband refinery is set to rise to 21million cubic meters as well.

"Once Dey field is fully developed, the sweet gas of this independent field together with that of Aghar and Dalan fields will be injected to the countrys gas grid.", Fakour said.

He reiterated Sarvestan and Saadat Abad fields, with the purpose of producing 15000 barrels of oil per day, are to be inaugurated soon and their outlet will be transferred to Shiraz refinery.

Elsewhere in his remarks ICOFC managing director said the company will invest $1.2 billion in oil and gas projects by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2013), adding ICOFC will draw out the figure from the energy fund to invest in related oil and gas projects.
