In the shades of the World Energy Forum in Dubai, Rostam Ghasemi, Iran's Oil Minister talked about the necessity of the renewable energies and the fact that Iran is looking for new kind of energies such as solar energy, wind power, and biofuels to be replaced by precious fossil fuels.
Ghasemi also said that in order to lower the domestic supplement of fossil fuels, Iran wants to employ fresh economical policies such as modification of subsides, improving fuel supplement on the basis of international standards, therefore, eventually change the whole model of fuel supplements in the country.
Regarding the imposed sanctions exercised by U.S. and European Union, he pointed that sanctions are not an exotic issue for Iran and it is been 30 years that the West imposed such unilateral restrictions against Iran.
The World Energy Forum 2012, a high-level international energy conference is taking place for the first time outside the headquarters of the United Nations, opened yesterday in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Leaders from member states of the United Nations, international organizations, and corporations are expected to seek tangible progress towards cleaner, safer, and more sustainable energy as well as achieving universal access to modern energy services at the three-day event.
One of the primary objectives of this conference is to chart a roadmap for a sustainable energy mix that can fuel global economic and social development.
The forum also provides an opportunity to exchange new ideas on global energyissues from the perspectives of policy, technology, and business.
