Victoria Petroleum N.L. has been advised by the operator Oilex N.L that the Donga-3 well has been successfully completed, pumping equipment installed and a long term production test commenced. The well was put on pump on March 11 and following a period of clean up flow and in line with expectations, total fluid production rates are beginning to stabilise at around 100-120 barrels per day of which 40-70 barrels per day is 46 degree API light crude oil. Production performance will be closely monitored over the next month, particularly the oil/water ratio (“oil cut”) and reservoir pressures, in order to provide necessary data for full field development considerations.
The Donga-3 well is located in ATP 805P Surat Basin, Queensland. Victoria Petroleum N.L. has a 15% interest in Donga-3, the Donga oil field and the surrounding permit ATP 805P. Commenting on the start of oil production at Donga-3, Victoria Petroleum N.L. managing director John Kopcheff said; “We are pleased to have added another oil producer to our onshore Australian oil production.”
“Donga-3 joins the producing Jingemia, Mirage, Ventura, and Rookwood oil fields with our total net oil production now running at about 420 barrels of oil per day.”
