WorleyParsons is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract by Sasol North America, Inc. (Sasol) for an integrated GTL and ethane cracker complex. The contract is for WorleyParsons to provide Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT) services for the front-end engineering and design phase, with the intent to subsequently provide IPMT services to the engineering, procurement and construction phase of the project.
Sasol’s integrated complex will comprise of a world-scale ethane cracker that will produce 1.5 mtpa of ethylene with downstream derivative plants and a 96,000 bbl/d GTL facility. It will produce high quality transportation fuel, including GTL diesel and other value-adding chemical products. It will be located adjacent to Sasol’s existing chemical complex in southwest Louisiana. Current project costs are estimated between US$16 to US$21 billion.
