Queiroz Galvao Oleo e Gas S.A. (“QGOG”) announces that began operations for Shell of its onshore rig QG-I in the Sao Francisco Basin, Minas Gerais State. The contract runs through November 2013.

The QG-I is a conventional onshore rig with a drilling depth capacity of up to 16,500 feet. It is equipped with modern technology, including Draw works 1600 HP.
QGOG owns a fleet of nine onshore rigs, with eight operating in Amazonia, Brazil, and twelve offshore rigs, with eight under operation for Petrobras and four under construction.
