SOCAR President Receives German Delegation

SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev received the Honorary Consul of Azerbaijan in Germany Otto Hauser and the delegation comprised of representatives of German companies. Welcoming the guests, Mr. Abdullayev thanked the Honorary Consul of Azerbaijan in Germany Otto Hauser for great contributions to the development of relations between the two countries. Noting the developing political and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Germany, SOCAR President emphasized the importance of such visits and meetings. He spoke about the works done for European energy supply, the issues regarding the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe, agreements signed with buying companies, works on designing the TAP pipeline.

Expressing his gratitude for the reception, the Honorary Consul of Azerbaijan in Germany Otto Hauser appreciated the recent development in Azerbaijan. According to him, selecting TAP pipeline for transportation route of Azerbaijani gas to Europe is a proper decision from economic and strategic point of view. Afterwards, he introduced the members of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany to SOCAR President.

SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev briefed on the procedure on decision made regarding the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe and emphasized the big support by European Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger in this connection. Responding the questions of guests, Mr. Abdullayev spoke about the rich history of ancient oil production in Azerbaijan, important contribution of Azeri oil workers to the history of the world industry, regional and international projects of SOCAR, its achievements, prospective projects, Company’s operations in cleaning up the polluted lands, and cooperation with German companies in this respect.
