In December, Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation concluded a contract for two 153,000 m3 LNG carriers with Osaka Gas International Transport Inc.(OGIT), a subsidiary of Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. The first vessel was ordered by OGIT, together with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line) and K-Line, and the second vessel by OGIT and NYK Line. The carriers feature four Moss spherical tanks, one conventional and three stretched types, which hold a total cargo capacity of 153,000 m3. The stretch Moss spherical tanks, with an additional 2 meter-high cylinder to raise cargo capacity, were recently designed and developed by Kawasaki Shipbuilding under the license from Moss Maritime. The deliveries are scheduled for December 2008 and July 2009.
