Chiyoda Corporation (Chiyoda), one of Japan's leading engineering and construction firms, announces that its subsidiary in Qatar, Chiyoda Almana Engineering LLC (Chiyoda Almana), has recently been awarded a contract by RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) for the engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) for the Onshore Flow Assurance Project.
The scope of the project consists of onshore storage, pumping and loading facilities that will pump mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) through a high pressure pipeline system to eight RasGas and three Qatargas offshore wellhead platforms to prevent the formation of hydrates. The project includesMEG transfer pumps and facilities to load road tankers that will supply MEG to the RasGas, Qatargas and Barzan onshore facilities, and the capability to load marine vessels to transport MEG to offshore back-up tanks on the wellhead platforms. The same berth will also be used to unload MEG from chemical supply tankers.
