Bill Day, a Valero spokesman based at company headquarters in San Antonio, said by e-mail that any turnaround will be included in one of the companyís turnaround schedules released each quarter.

The Port Arthur refineryís catalytic cracker unit can process 75,000 barrels a day, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

The entire plant can process up to 80 percent heavy sour crude. It produces gasoline, jet fuel, diesel and petrochemicals, and distributes them through the Colonial Pipeline, Explorer Pipeline, Teppco Pipeline or via ships and barges, Valeroís website shows.
