Woodside Approves $1 Billion Persephone Project

Woodside Petroleum has approved the Persephone gas development project located in Australia's Carnarvon Basin.

The project will involve a two well, 7 km subsea tieback from the Persephone Field to the existing North Rankin Complex. The total investment for the project is expected to be approximately A$1.2 billion (US$1.02 billion), with project start-up expected in early 2018.

Ownership of Persephone Project: Woodside (16.67%, operator), BHP Billiton (16.67%), BP (16.67%), Chevron (16.67%), Shell (16.67%) and Japan Australia LNG (16.67%).
