Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, is expanding its contract with the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) in providing certification services as part of the on-going Pre-Export Verification of Conformity Programme (PVoC).
The PVoC programme verifies the conformity of all regulated products in the exporting countries, ensuring they comply with national, regional or international standards and technical regulations. The program is designed to protect the health, safety and environment of Kenyan’s citizens from substandard imported goods.
Under the PVoC it is compulsory for exporters to obtain a Certificate of Conformity from an approved body such as Intertek. As part of the program expansion, Intertek will be therefore assisting more exporters in providing these Certificates.
David Gregory, Chief Operating Officer of Intertek’s Government and Trade Services said: “We are delighted to be working with the Kenyan government in supporting them with their on-going program for certification of exporters into Kenya. This is highly crucial in keeping improving consumer and environment safety. Intertek is well established in Kenya having introduced the very first conformity assessment programme over 18 years ago. Our expertise is to provide the authority and technical service to exporters to Kenya with a rapid and excellent certification through inspection and testing services”.
Intertek has a global network of services operating in over 100 countries supporting this programme.
