CNOOC EnerTech Develops Coatings for Nuclear Power Plants

Source: www.gulfoilandgas.com 3/18/2015, Location: Asia

On March 16th, it was learned from CNOOC EnerTech that the nuclear power coatings developed by its subsidiary Changzhou Paint & Coating Industry Research Institute (“Changzhou Institute”) have been used in the Chinese nuclear power plant construction. Changzhou Institute has also built a supporting technology system to meet the requirements of Chinese nuclear power plants.

Previously, Chinese nuclear power plants mainly adopted imported coating technologies. Changzhou Institute joined hands with Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute to promote the coating localization. The two institutes studied the third-generation nuclear power coating technologies, examined the detailed requirements of Chinese nuclear power plants, put forward solutions for different types of nuclear reactors and eventually put the products into engineering application.
