On 2nd April 2015 morning, the senior leaders of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) led by CEO Alexander Kofi - Mensah Mould came to visit and work with PTSC M&C about Ghana OCTP Offshore FPSO project. They were accompanied by representatives of Yinson Group, the general contractor of PTSC M&C in the pre-constructed project to provide FPSO for the Government of Ghana. Director Dong Xuan Thang and some key officials received them on behalf of PTSC M&C.
According to PTSC M&C, Ghana OCTP Offshore FPSO project is the 3rd project that PTSC M&C participate in and win the international tender during the period of 2014-2015, following the successful implementation of HRD (ONGC/Afcons) and MLS (Total E&P Borneo B.V (Brunei)) projects previously. This project is executed by PTSC M&C for ENI S.p.A as the Client, Yinson/Kanfa as the main contractor. Being awarded contract in March 2015, the scope of PTSC M&C’s services includes: design, procurement, construction and transportation of topside modules MM1, MM2 with a total volume of 3,500 tons; procurement, construction and transportation of modules MG1, MP1, MU1, MI1 with a total volume of 2,000 tons; transport modules to the construction yard of Singapore. The project is implemented from March 2015 to May 2016.
At the meeting, Director Dong Xuan Thang introduced PTSC M&C’s capability in petroleum mechanical engineering. He highlighted the facilities, construction yards with advanced equipment, management system, highly-qualified management staff, technicians, design engineers and workers that were rated on the same level with the regional contractors. So far, PTSC M&C has been frequently received the invitation to bid from the Clients for EPC/EPCI projects domestically and abroad. As the EPCI contractor successfully implemented more than 50 projects for domestic and foreign partners, especially the projects on HRD platform for ONGC-Afcons and MLS platform for Total E&P Borneo B.V (Brunei), PTSC M&C believed they wouldsuccessfully implement Ghana OCTP Offshore FPSO project for GNPC-Yinson-Kanfa, ensuring the safety, schedule, quality and efficiency.
Mr. Alexander Kofi-Mensah Mould, CEO of GNPC thanked PTSC M&C for the warm and professional reception and shared important information about the oil and gas market in African countries generally and Ghana particularly. According to his information, there would be additional projects for installation of FPSO and platforms in that area in the coming time. So GNPC paid much attention to the capability to implement the services regarding oil storage, petroleum mechanical engineering, especially experiences, facilities, yards, human resources ... of the partners.
After the meeting and visit to PTSC M&C’s site at PTSC downstream port, the CEO of GNPC highly appreciated PTSC M&C’s success, especially the professionalism and capability to act as EPCI contractor, master technology, perform by itself the detailed design for the oil and gas offshore projects and modules in PTSC M&C Office. He hoped that PTSC M&C and GNPC-Yinson-Kanfa would cooperate well to successfully implement the important project. PTSC M&C Director Dong Xuan Thang also pledged to GNPC leader that PTSC M&C would provide the best resources for successful implementation of FPSO Topside Modules Fabrication Project for Ghana.
