Iraq Oil Ministry Launches A New Exportation System

Mr. Fayadh H. Niema the deputy minister of oil opened the system of crude oil exportation in Faw province with an exportation power of 850 thousand barrels / day to export through the southern ports in Basra, which is the first of its kind in Iraq.

Mr. Fayadh ensured that the system included 3 oil reservoirs with two vertical pumps and a new counter system in addition to the pipelines which are extended from the Tuba depot in West Qurna /2 field. And this process will raise the exportation power to more than 3 million barrels / day.

He said also that the exportation of this type of oil will be connected to many oil fields such as West Qurna/ 2, Halfaya and the other oil fields, while he expected that the export capacity will reach 6 million barrels / day in the year 2020 within the projects that are being applied by the South Oil Company.

It is worthy to mention that the first shipment to a tanker ship started in the first of June with 2 million barrels.
