EMAS Successfully Completes Pioneering Project on Aasta Hansteen

EMAS AMC, the subsea division of EMAS, a leading global offshore contractor and provider of integrated offshore solutions to the oil and gas (O&G) industry, announced successful completion of the transportation and installation of three subsea templates for the Aasta Hansteen field development project, operated by Statoil.

“We are pleased to announce successful completion of EMAS AMC’s work on the Aasta Hansteen field development, which also adds another record to the EMAS AMC track record. No subsea template installation has ever been done on such water depths on the Norwegian Continental Shelf,” says Svein Haug, Regional Head Europe and Africa.

Located in the Norwegian Sea, 300 km west of Bodo, Norway, the Statoil operated Aasta Hansteen field development project is the Norwegian Sea’s deepest offshore project, with water depths of more than 1200 meters.

EMAS AMC’s scope of work included transport and installation of two 4-slot templates and one single slot template. All templates were transported from Aker Solutions’ facility in Sandnessjoen, Norway. EMAS AMC utilised its subsea construction vessel Boa Sub C for transportation and installation work.
