Block Engineering, the leading manufacturer of Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) based infrared spectroscopy solutions, announced today that Mark Venske has joined the company as the new Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Venske will lead all aspects of International Sales, Marketing, and Business Development with a focus on Block's QCL products for oil and gas, semiconductor, and chemical gas and liquid analysis markets.
"Mark has an impressive track record selling sophisticated instruments for industrial process control, environmental monitoring, and laboratory analysis in the oil and gas, chemical, semiconductor, and other industries," said Dr. Daniel J. Cavicchio, Jr., Executive Chairman of Block Engineering.
Dr. Petros Kotidis, CEO, commented, "Block has demonstrated that QCLs are an extremely powerful tool for gas detection in a compact package. Mr. Venske comes to Block from PAC, a division of Roper, Inc., where he served as Vice President of the Americas. At PAC he expanded sales of gas and liquid analyzers in the oil and gas industry and built new distribution networks in Latin and South America. He has sold Fourier Transform Infrared spectrometers, Gas Chromatographs, Liquid Chromatographs, and hyphenated Mass Spectrometry systems. Prior to PAC, he was National Sales Manager for Varian, Inc. and Agilent Technologies, Inc.
Mr. Venske served in the US Navy, where he participated in the advanced electronics program with a focus on electronics and RF technology, and then attended the University of North Florida.
