VENTEQ Secures Inspection Contract for £4.5b Statoil’s Mariner Project

Leading vendor inspection, quality assurance and quality control service provider VENTEQ has secured a new contract with Statoil to deliver third party inspection services for its Mariner area development. The four year deal will see VENTEQ, a CAN Group business stream, providing a range of vendor inspection services to Statoil’s new operations based in Aberdeen. These services will include inspection and release of hired and transportable equipment, new fabrications, witness testing, quality assurance and quality control.

Statoil’s Mariner project is the largest field development on the UKCS in more than a decade, with a gross investment of more than £4.5billion. It is expected to produce more than 250 million barrels of heavy oil during its projected 30-year lifespan.

VENTEQ Operations Manager, David Swanton said: “The Mariner area development is currently one of the largest projects in the UKCS and we are very excited to have been selected to support Statoil in its execution with the provision of vendor inspection services for the Mariner installation. Our experience enables us to field a strong team of vendor and QA/QC inspectors, experienced across a wide range of disciplines.
