Petrofac has been awarded a new contract in Equatorial Guinea for the provision of project management and engineering support services to ongoing modifications and new projects for Equatorial Guinea LNG Operations, S.A. (EG LNG) within the Punta Europa Plant facility, Bioko Island.
The contract with EG LNG heralds a major milestone for Petrofac’s Brownfield business as it enters the global LNG modifications market. EG LNG Train 1 delivered its first LNG cargo in May 2007, positioning EG LNG as a competitive force in the Atlantic basin.
EG LNG awarded the contract following Brownfield’s strong performance for Marathon, which is the majority shareholder in EG LNG, in the UK and Equatorial Guinea. A team of Brownfield engineers has already been deployed to Equatorial Guinea where Petrofac’s core activities will be engineering, construction and project management.
