SOCAR regional training center in Gobustan held a certification ceremony for professional oil workers who completed training courses on request of BP according to the agreement in support of development of national personnel. Rovnag Abdullayev, SOCAR President, Gordon Birrell, BP Regional president, Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey, Suleyman Mikayilov, Head of Gobustan executive power and other officials attended the ceremony.
The 10-month training program involved 79 students, including 21 university graduates, offering courses for operators of electric, welding, measuring and test equipment, processing plants, oil and gas operators, compressor engine drivers and others.
In his welcoming speech, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev spoke about the youth policy successfully implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and SOCAR’s contribution to the conversion of oil capitals into human resources.
SOCAR opened five training centers covered high-qualified comprehensive programs. Rovnag Abdullayev said the Gobustan training center has large opportunities and urged to use its potential effectively.
BP Regional president Gordon Birrell highly appreciated SOCAR training centers’ work and said they would develop cooperation within the Personnel Training Memorandum. Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Shabnam Ahmadova thanked for opportunities offering them to reach academic and practical skills. Then graduates received certificates.
