The Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) has elected Patrick J. McGeehan, Vice President and General Manager of AMETEK Specialty Metal Products (SMP), as Federation President. The two-year term commenced at the conclusion of the federation’s recent annual meeting in Austin, TX. He succeeds outgoing MPIF President Richard Pfingstler of Atlas Pressed Metals, DuBois, Pennsylvania.
MPIF, headquartered in Princeton, NJ, is an umbrella trade federation that represents international metal powder producing and consuming industries. It includes the Metal Powder Producers Association (MPPA), Metal Injection Molding Association, Powder Metallurgy Parts Association, Powder Metallurgy Equipment Association, Refractory Metals Association and Isostatic Pressing Association.
Patrick McGeehan’s career in powder metallurgy spans more than 30 years. He joined AMETEK in 2008 as Vice President and General Manager, Specialty Metal Products. Prior to that, he spent 25 years with Hoeganaes Corporation, mostly recently as Senior Vice President, Operations & Technology.
McGeehan has been an active member of MPIF for many years. He most recently was President of the MPPA and was a member of the MPIF Board of Governors. He was recipient in 2011 of the MPIF Distinguished Service to Powder Metallurgy Award. He also served on the MPIF Technical Board and co-chaired its Roadmap Strategy Board, PM Annual Conference and PM World Congress.
