Algerian time, Central Processing Facility (CPF) of the production development project Bir Seba (BRS), Blocks 433a-416b officially received the first oil from 04 production wells.

The first oil was taken up through well BRS-6bis with the flow of 2000 barrels/day, serving the operational testing of wellhead systems, collecting stations and central processing factory of Bir Seba Field.

During the testing period, the well BRS-6bis and 3 other wells BRS-9, BRS12, BRS14 of the collecting station no.1 are opened alternately to provide oil for testing the system and central processing factory. Oil from well to surface will travel via the internal pipeline to the collecting station for quantitative measurement and concentrate on the main connecting pipeline to the central processing factory, and then will be processed to be commercial oil.

In the coming weeks, the Operator GBRS will continue to work on the whole system alignment and alternately open the next wells to gradually raise the production capacity up to 20,000 barrels/day in accordance with the plan of Phase I. The output will be raised to 40,000 barrels/day expectedly from 2019 after deploying the production system of phase II.

The project of Blocks 433a & 416b - Algeria is joint-ventured by PVEP (40%), SONATRACH (25%) and PTTEP (35%). This is the first successful overseas project of PVEP as well as of Vietnam National Oil & Gas Group from the international bidding to the exploration which had been done directly by PVEP from 2003 to 2008. In order to operate the production development, a Joint Operating Company named Groupement Bir Seba (GBRS) had been established under the provisions of a production sharing contract.

This success presents the effectively cooperative relations between Vietnam and Algeria, further deepening the traditional friendship between people of the two countries for development and prosperity.br>
