CPP Starts Its First PRCI Project

It is reported on the project start-up online meeting that the project “Improved Reliability in Semi-Automatic Welding of Pipelines - Expanding the Essential Welding Variables Methodology” (MAT-1-4) organized by CPP PRCI and CRES has commenced.

CPP has submitted proposal of MAT-1-4 as per PRCI requirements, which has won support from many other member companies including ConocoPhillips, TransCanada PipeLines Limited, Shell Global Solutions, Evraz Inc. NA, Petrobras, PetroChina, Baosteel, etc. The project is approved after three rounds of review by PRCI.

After approval, PRCI has appointed CRES (Center for Reliable Energy Systems, LLC) to carry out the research and CPP to do the supervision. The research aims to improve the quality of grade X80 steel semi-automatic welding greatly.
